Endometriosis occurs where tissue grows outside the uterus. When a woman gets her period this tissue sheds and bleeds like the lining of the uterus. However, this has no way of leaving the body and cause inflammation, scarring and intense pain.  Symptoms can vary from mild or pain, to extreme pain and difficulty conceiving. It is chronic and long-term and has no cure at this moment in time. Laparoscopy can used to make a clear diagnosis of endometriosis.
