Sperm DNA
Any sperm DNA damage may reduce the success of IVF treatment and increase chances of miscarriage. Research has shown that nearly 80% of couples with unexplained infertility have issues with sperm DNA. Any issues regarding sperm DNA is not detectable through traditional semen analysis, though it can reveal any basic problems with the sperm, it does not indicate anything about the quality. If sperm DNA damage is found to be significantly high, it is suggested that there will be a higher chance of success if ICSI treatment is received, rather than IVF. Or alternatively there are some easy lifestyle changes that men can undertake to help improve their sperm DNA.
